Hey guys, Neil here. I grew up in Cochrane, Alberta and now reside in Calgary with my incredible wife, Leah.

In 2004 the U of C decided that they had taken enough of my money and let me leave with a piece of paper (kinesiology degree). I am also a certified Full Ski Guide and Hiking Guide with the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG). I have been guiding professionally since 1994.

My passion is ski touring. Nothing compares to the feeling of being on a pair of skis in the mountains. Although, carving a sweet-ass, toe-side wave is pretty good too... haha! but seriously, other activities I enjoy are: surfing, mountain bike trail building, the occasional fly-fishing or sailing trip and cycling in all of its glorious forms (XC, DH, Road).

I started Alpine Threadworks out of a love for working with my hands and wanting to have quality, functional gear for my mountain pursuits. My mom first showed me how to use a sewing machine when I was 12; From that point I taught myself how to sew and design through years and years (and years!) of trial and error.

Spring, summer and fall I work full time with Alpine Threadworks. When winter comes I head to the mountains to enjoy the incredible pleasure that is Ski Guiding. Alpine Threadworks is still very much open for business in the winter, turnaround times are just a bit longer.

I thank you for your interest in Alpine Threadworks!

Cheers!
Neil Warren
