Why use Alpine Threadworks for repairs & modifications?
- All work is done properly
-
No shortcuts are taken. For example, when replacing a pack zipper
I: 1) Mark both sides of the pack opening with chalk; 2) Carefully
remove the old zipper; 3) Sew in the new YKK zipper using the
chalk lines to ensure proper alignment; 4) Heat seal the fabric
edge and finish the seam with nylon binding tape for strength.
- Genuine parts and materials.
-
I stock and have access to many outdoor fabrics & materials
(500 & 1000D Cordura, Ballistic Nylon, Schöller, Kevlar,
Sil-nylon, Truck Tarp fabric, full line of YKK zippers and much
more!
- All work is done by Neil Warren (Alpine Threadworks owner)
-
I am very active in the outdoors. I understand the demands the
outdoor environment places on gear and clothing. If you tell me
your pack lid hits your head while climbing and you want the lid
made into a floating/removable lid, I know what you're talking
about.
- Attention to aesthetic detail
-
I take pride in my work. I get true satisfaction from a job well
done. I also like to make your gear look as sexy as possible! I
will use matching or complementary fabrics and thread whenever
possible. Your gear will look as close to new as possible.
If you are in Calgary you can drop your gear at my house/shop (but
please contact me first via neil@
alpinethreadworks.com or by calling (403) 282-7030).
If you are not in Calgary you can ship your gear to my house at:
#31 Chisholm Crescent NW Calgary, Alberta, Canada, T2L 0Y9 [google-map].
The Fine Print
*** All repair items must be clean! *** Alpine Threadworks does not
offer washing sevices.
If your repair item is not clean you can:
- Clean the item yourself (washing machine, bathtub or
carwash)
- Take your item to the Outdoor Centre (220-5038) for
professional washing services.
Also, please note the following:
- Please drop off only the item needing repair. For example:
If your tent fly needs sewing, please bring me only the tent
fly. No need to bring the tent body, poles and pegs.
- Please remove any excess parts from the item needing
repairs (remove stays from backpacks, empty contents from
bags, etcetera).
- Please mark the spot needing repair (tape works well).
- Alpine Threadworks appologizes that it does NOT:
- work on structural safety gear (climbing harness,
helmets, etcetera);
- do Gore-tex seam taping;
- do size alterations to clothing.
Thank you,
Neil Warren.
